A church ceremony in which people who have been instructed in the Christian/Lutheran faith publicly confess their faith and their intention to continue in the faith. Usually they receive Holy Communion for the first time when they are confirmed.

One of God’s means of grace. Other names are: The Sacrament of the Altar; The Lord’s Supper; The Eucharist; The Lord’s Table. Communion means fellowship belonging together, sharing together.

Holy Communion is God’s guarantee of his love. Through this sacrament, God says to us again and again: “I am for you – for sure! You need never doubt my grace and forgiveness.” It is also a special way in which we celebrate everything Jesus has done for us, and give thanks to God for his amazing grace.
